What is a Designer Day?
What’s so special about a Designer Day?
There are some weekends during the year where certain stores will hold a Designer Day with us. This means that we send a collection of our catwalk dresses that they don’t already have (usually size 10) along to the store for you to try on. It gives you a chance to see a dress ‘in the flesh’ rather than just in magazine pictures or through a website.
Which collections – is it just the latest styles?
Some stores will ask for the latest styles as a ‘special preview’ but that can depend on availability. Others love to get as close to a ‘whole collection’ as possible to give you a good choice.
What is a GWC designer event?
Gorgeous with Curves is a special event which is really aimed at anyone who is a High Street size 16 and upwards. As you might already know, bridal dresses come up on the ‘small size’ and it can be very demoralising to learn you might have to go up a size for your wedding dress of all dresses! A Gorgeous with Curves event is when we send out slightly larger sized samples off the catwalk for you to try on. They are the same dresses as the current collection but we have selected certain cuts of dresses that pull in your waist to accentuate it, shape over your hips and lift the bust.
What is a ‘White Weddings’ designer event?
This event is where we have selected certain white dresses from stock in varying sizes to show you how gorgeous and striking the dress looks like in white. Diamond white and pale ivory are very close to white and can look crisp and clean for a wedding. White is often a forgotten colour whilst ivory has taken over in the popularity stakes for the last decade or so. This pure colour is gaining momentum so watch out for such an event in your area or inquire at your local stockist to see if they would hold one.
How much does a Designer weekend cost?
These weekends are free to the bride and some stores may add extra incentives or special discounts if they are holding one in their shop. The main objective is to ‘save a date’ in the diary and encourage you to come along with an open mind and see some of the dresses you might not have thought about otherwise.
How do we I know when a store local to me is holding a Designer weekend?
Click here to check out our website for details of stores holding such events. Magazines from the Bridal titles will also list some of these events in their news sections.
What if my local store is not holding a Designer Event in the near future or does not hold the style I am interested in?
Consider enquiring at your nearest Benjamin Roberts stockist about our loan of Samples Service* where they can arrange for certain styles to be couriered in.
